THIRTEEN Celebrates Black History Month

WNET/THIRTEEN is a wonderful media partner of the Lincoln Square BID, with Tisch WNET Studios right here on Lincoln Center's campus. This February,  THIRTEEN spotlights pioneers  who have enriched the fabric of American history and culture in celebration of Black History Month
To mention a few of the special programs celebrating black history that will air this half of the month: On Monday, February 20 at 9:00pm, THIRTEEN will air The Talk: Race in America  a two-hour film that presents six personal stories from across the country illustrating the issue of police brutality and communities of color from multiple perspectives.  Also, on Tuesday, February 21 at 8:00pm, American Masters  continues its 31st season with    Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise , the first documentary feature about the incomparable Dr. Maya Angelou (1928-2014), best known for her autobiography    I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
